WebSketch for Dummies

So you say you've never created a website? It's too complicated, time consuming, and requires too much specialized knowledge?

Have I got a solution for you!

Websketch.com is so simple to use it's almost unfair. Creating websites usually does require time, patience, and a certain aptitude. But Websketch enables just about anybody to post a simple site.

To get started, simply sign up for your free trial account. Right now, your free account allows you to post an unlimited number of 1-page sites. The downside is, your site only has one page. The upside is, it's so easy to change content, you can update your site frequently.

You'll be presented with an interface providing you with a drag-and-drop style interface. Give you site a title, add a banner graphic, and then start posting your content. Content can include images, YouTube movies, text, links, and more. The technology relies heavily on linking to content already available on the internet - things like your Flickr photos, weather gadgets, maps, and so on.

Your settings can include preferences for making your site public, private, or restricted to invitees.

Photos are literally resized on-the-fly, so including photo selection and prep time, I had a phot0-based site up and running in less than half an hour!

Right now the site is free, but eventually it will be fee-for-service. At that time, your websites will be multiple-page enabled, and potentially, have other more sophisticated features, as well.

So now there really is now excuse. If you've got something to say, say it! It's easy.
