Tiny Bubbles

360 degree photos in just seconds.

Possible?

Impossible?

I have to admit I am still amazed by the new app for iPhones, Bubbli.

Once your free app is installed, you find a location you want to record as a 360 photo - including sound, if you choose.

Now, treat the camera as a stationary object - it, and not you, are the center of this little universe. That was probably the most difficult thing to adjust to when I tried my first Bubble. I wanted to turn in place, and move my arms up and down as I literally painted a blank canvas with the image I was recording (it's so easy it's astounding). But no, you hold the camera as still on two axes as possible, and then use your hands only to rotate along the "up-down" axis. You move around the camera to gather the data around it, the stable point in the bubble.

Once you have painted the entire space, you simply end the recording, and wait. Very shortly, your "bubble" will be created. You'll get a notification on your chosen email, and if you've also elected to share via a social account, your Facebook or Twitter friends - or anyone you email your Bubble to - will be able to explore it themselves.

You will also be able to view your completed Bubble on your iPhone, but the one limitation is that you'll have to walk around your phone for the full 360 experience. If you're viewing it via Facebook, or on your desktop via your email version, you will simply use your mouse to cruise around the Bubble. And if you've chosen sound, your sound will play as you view the Bubble. I have not tried a narrated view, though if that's possible, this is even deeper magic than at first glance!

I am envisioning all sorts of both personal and professional uses for this - from an instant virtual tour for real estate people or, say, a hotel, new store, or even a remodeling job on a kitchen!

This is just one awesome app that's worth every... oh, wait, did I tell you it's free?

All that, and the best price in town.
