Hard Drive Freeze?
If you've ever had the experience of your hard drive making horrible noises and finally crashing, you might be able to save your data with an improbable but frequently workable fix.

Simply remove the hard drive from the computer, wrap it snugly in a plastic bag, and put it in the freezer for about 24 hours.

Reattach it to the computer after it's good and cold, and reboot. It may take a little time, but your hard drive may very well come back on line. If it does, be prepared to backup the data on that drive as quickly as possible - I'm told that as soon as the hard drive heats up again, it will likely cease to spin, and there is no telling if this trick will work again!
